This position is located in the Office of Operations, Office of Telephone Services (OTS). At the full performance level (GS-13), the incumbent exercises OTS, DCO and SSA-wide expertise in areas related to ongoing national 800 number and field office (FO) teleservices and operations including:
Benchmarking private and Federal organizations and performing gap analyses;
Analyzing national 800 number and FO teleservice operations, policies and procedures;
Evaluating short and long-range planning and operational goals impacting national 800 number and FO telephone services and transaction oriented applications;
Evaluating and assessing the American public's needs and expectations related to SSA's national teleservice delivery;
Researching and assessing technology to determine feasibility of implementing new/expanded national teleservice delivery processes;
Evaluating and assessing legislative issues to determine impact on SSA's teleservice delivery;
Conducting technical reviews and evaluations of telecommunications systems and 800 number and FO teleservice operations; and
Assessing staffing and budget requirements for national 800 number and FO teleservice delivery.
