Executive Assistant

Serves as principal advisor and consultant to SSA and OARO officials on OARO programs. Provides authoritative information, evaluations and recommendations on all phases of OARO operations for use in establishing priorities, allocating resources, and formulating management policies. Develops and presents independent analyses of controversial matters and performs confidential and sensitive assignments for the DC and ADC. Acts for or assists the DC, ADC, and Executive Officer (XO) in managing, coordinating, and controlling the day-to-day operations of OARO, including controlling the accomplishment by OARO components of assignments and projects. Assigns, directs, monitors and reports on projects and studies assigned to one or more subordinate OARO components to ensure that deadlines, goals and objectives are met. Keeps the DC, ADC, and XO informed of project status and any special or unusual circumstances requiring their attention. Ensures that issues requiring the Executive Officer, Assistant Deputy Commissioner, and the Deputy Commissioner attention are developed on a timely and coordinated basis; identifies the need for and oversees the implementation of procedures for proper coordination on specific issues. Attends high level meetings and conferences with the Executive Officer, Assistant Deputy Commissioner, and the Deputy Commissioner and serves as their primary resource person. Participates in and makes contributions to discussions and planning sessions. To qualify for this GS-15 level position, applicants must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled, with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience should include applying fact-finding and analytical techniques, providing oral and written communications, and developing presentations and reports related to administrative or program principles, concepts, policies and objectives. Additionally, experience must include leading or managing a project and/or team and planning, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive organization-wide programs. Such experience must be related to one or more of the following:
administrative management, personnel management, performance management, property/resource management, training, budget, efficiency of management operations, or agency/organization policies and procedures. Qualification requirements must be met by all applicants by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants for promotion must have 52 weeks in a GS-14 level position. Current or former Federal employees must meet the time-in-grade requirement by the closing date of this announcement. (Time-in-grade requirement does not apply to VEOA applicants.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
